Built by parents who understand what a milestone truly means

Because not every child’s journey looks the same, and every step forward deserves to be celebrated.

How we started

We started PlayAbility Sports as parents who have always thought deeply about what it means to watch children grow. For many families, seeing a child score a first goal or make a basket is a proud and exciting moment. But for parents of children on the spectrum, milestones can look very different, and often, even more meaningful. Sometimes it is not about scoring a goal at all. It is about a first proper kick, a first throw, a moment where a child feels comfortable enough to take part. Those moments may seem small to others, but for many families they mean everything.

Why we built it

We created PlayAbility Sports to build a space where those moments are recognized, supported, and celebrated, a space where children are not rushed, not pressured, and not compared, but encouraged to grow at their own pace. This is about helping children build confidence through sport, and giving parents the chance to experience moments they may once have thought were out of reach. Because every child deserves the opportunity to shine, and every parent deserves to see it.

Who we work with

We work with children on the autism spectrum and neurodivergent individuals more broadly, across the Greater Toronto Area. Sessions run at partner facilities in Milton and Brampton. Our sports programs are designed for children ages 5 to 12, and Fitness on the Spectrum supports neurodivergent individuals from ages 8 to 60.

What we do not do

PlayAbility is not a replacement for therapy. Our sessions are a meaningful extension of it. They align with principles used in Applied Behavior Analysis and Occupational Therapy, while keeping the experience fun and sport-centered. We do not rush children, put them on the spot, or compare them to one another.
